Project Aims

Amongst all the fun, laughter and hard graft, Imagine You Can have genuine, core social, educational and cohesive aims at the very heart of our philosophy.

The organisation has very clear aims. Our aims are to:

  • Encourage and inspire individuals of any age and ability to grow in self esteem, self confidence, self motivation and independence by undertaking small achievable tasks, using performance-based learning
  • Encourage, enhance, motivate and develop individuals’ creativity
  • Enable and nurture a positive and motivated attitude towards learning
  • Promote physical, emotional and mental well-being
  • Promote understanding and appreciation of the world through:
    • Development of knowledge, understanding and relationship with sports and the arts through experiential learning
    • Development of awareness of the arts and enterprise
    • Develop exploration of the processes which go towards creating vibrant and inspirational artistic events
  • Develop communication skills and promote cooperation
  • Support the building of partnership working and build on social capital by using local materials, goods and skills
  • Establish a network of individuals who already work creatively outdoors or who are aiming towards it
  • Help bridge the academic performance gap among under-achieving students by extending the school day and year with wholesome, skill-building activities designed to improve young peoples academic performance, health and wellness, attitude towards school, self-confidence, character and values, and opportunity for lifelong employment.

Moreover the very core of our Imagine family is about "giving people a chance". Especially those who really do need them. It’s easy to write the words or just say them; we get out there and get on with it. No fluffy, woolly, tree-hugging nonsense just quality projects that young people LOVE.

Tokenism really isn’t our bag either. It would be futile to simply deliver a random project and disappear on our horses over the horizon with no legacy for the very people who are saying "we want more". For that reason (and because the kids are actually very good) we offer opportunities for students to undertake their work experience with Imagine as well as "real jobs" with us. We aren’t dim, we want to the very people we have worked with to be have a career path into the industries we teach and not just a “let’s have a look at what you could have won” approach.

"Imagine You Can", we are and "Imagine You Can" is our philosophy. Every last step on the way. It’s about belief, its about fun, it’s about hope.

We love our journey!
