What a Feeling! South Yorkshire United for "showtime"
Over 60 young people from Rotherham took centre stage last week at the home of Football Association's oldest ground, Bramall Lane, Sheffield. As 2.30pm arrived, nervous and excited students hit the Blades turf and wowed the crowd with a 22 minute performance in front of 19,000 people featuring a "Through the Decades" dance and singing extravaganza by young people aged 9 to 17.
The 7 song set list featured music including Sam Cooke's 'Twistin' the night away', Four Season's 'Oh what a night', Sister Sledge's 'We are Family', Joan Jett's 'I love Rock n Roll', Transvision Vamp's 'Baby I don't Care' and the foot tapping Irene Cara, Flashdance classic, 'What a Feeling' and Pink's 'So What.'
Imagine Director Dave King said:
"All the young people involved have really enjoyed themselves and produced a genuinely top quality show for the Blades game. More importantly they have done it with a real smile on their face.
"They have grown dramatically in terms of self esteem, belief, got much healthier and made new friends. This was their first taste of a Sheffield United home game and it was great to see the crowd give them rapturous applause at the end, their appreciation showing just what a great performance it was."

Rotherham kids "tear-it up" in workshops
Students from the recent imagine project in Rotherham left the imagine crew in no doubt last week that their time has come!
As the action packed workshops came to a close, youngsters were treated to a week of funky fast- paced learning and also received VIP visits from Corporal Nayoukas from TV's Bad Lad's Army; Sue Beeley, Head of Community at Sheffield United; Sergeant Ray Powell of South Yorkshire Police and Rotherham Director of Children's Services, Joyce Thacker.
Presenters from Trax FM also popped in to see what all the fuss was about and interview budding stars along with local newspaper, Rotherham Advertiser.
Dave King of Imagine You Can said:
"Every single one of the students were fantastic. They showed great commitment and made massive strides every single day. Most of all they all had fun and made the effort to come along and not just sit at home bored. It just goes to show with a little focus, belief and imagination exactly what each and everyone can achieve. We can't wait for the big show."
The imagine show takes place on Saturday 28th August as pre-match entertainment at the Sheffield United v Preston North End game, live on centre pitch at Bramall Lane.
